PFAS Matrix, operated by Futurist IP (Ontario, Canada), provides compliance information and workflow software, not legal advice. Using this site does not create a lawyer-client relationship. State PFAS laws change frequently, are subject to litigation, and contain exemptions and definitions whose application to your specific products can require professional judgment.

We show our work: every rule displays its statutory citation and a link to the source. Where a rule is not yet confirmed against primary text, or is in force but disputed in court, we say so in the rule’s description. Treat those caveats literally, and confirm anything that carries a deadline or a penalty against the primary source.

Regulatory information can lag the official record. We maintain the rules database on a regular cadence, but agencies publish changes, guidance, and enforcement positions on their own schedule. The linked government source, not this website, is authoritative.

Checker results are generated from the category and state selections you enter; they are a starting map, not a determination that any specific product is or is not compliant. Product-level conclusions require product-level facts (chemistry, components, dates of manufacture) that only you and your suppliers hold.

Nothing here guarantees any regulatory outcome. Before making decisions with legal or financial consequences, skipping a filing, discontinuing a product, or certifying “PFAS-free,” confirm requirements against the cited source or with qualified counsel.
